As the Design Project Manager for this 5,700 square foot new custom home in Washington Park, I worked with a team comprised of the Principal Architect, Civil Engineer, Landscape Architect, Waterproofing Engineer, Geotechnical consultant, contractors, and clients from Spring 2015 - Spring 2018 to successfully bring the client vision to fruition. Key architectural design features that achieve the desired light and landscape views include floor to ceiling steel glazing systems, floating corner windows, dramatic skylights, and a private sunken garden space. I was responsible for design development, permit and construction documents, and all the presentations in between to get those documents assembled accurately to ensure sign off by the Architect and clients. I designed the custom built in fixtures for the Kitchen, Library, Den, Wine Room & Master Suites. The custom light fixtures over Entry and Dining Spaces span glass ceilings above. The custom Dining fixture incorporates antique chandeliers with sentimental value. I sourced all finish specifications and produced construction details for interior & exterior envelope coordination. I prepared monthly client presentations including sketches and material boards to ensure smooth decision making throughout the process. When the Construction Documents were complete, the client exclaimed, “My god, you wrote a book, congratulations!”
